Janine is the founder and CEO of Karuna Advisors and has over 30 years of experience in tax and family office services primarily working with the founders of private and public companies, their entities and businesses. Janine started her career at Deloitte and attributes her creativity and approach to her experience of over seven years at Deloitte. She also spent time at other nationally ranked firms working with high net individuals and on high profile forensic accounting divorce work.

Janine enjoys walking her dogs, taking classes at the gym, taking vacations with her son, Aron, and has recently completed her Masters in Tax from GGU.

Kathryn joined Karuna in 2025. She graduated from Boston University's Questrom School of Business with a dual concentration in accounting and finance. She is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Massachusetts and the state of Florida with over eight years of experience specializing in tax compliance and consulting for high-net-worth individuals and their family enterprises. Outside of tax season, she enjoys spending time at the beach, taking her miniature schnauzer to the dog park, and trying new restaurants.

Mimi joined Karuna in 2026. She graduated with honors from the University of San Diego with a degree in Accountancy and a minor in Supply Chain Management. She has over eight years of public accounting experience specializing in advisory for ultra-high net worth individuals and families as well as venture capital backed start-ups in Silicon Valley. Mimi enjoys going to concerts, walking the beach, baking, and spending time with her dog, family, and friends. 

Grace joined Karuna in 2016.  She manages the day-to-day requests from clients, reviews and prepares personalized financial statements and enjoys teaching new staff the Karuna way! Grace enjoys learning about taxation and is now focusing on that to augment her experience.

Grace enjoys traveling with her family, working out and a newfound passion for indoor plants!

Rachael joined Karuna in 2023. She graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor's in Accounting and a Master's in Accounting with an emphasis in Tax. She interned with a multinational accounting firm in their international tax group. Rachael then pursued an opportunity with an energy company where she worked for six years. She oversaw monthly closes, financial reporting, and maintained critical relationships with key business partners, many of which were Fortune 500 companies. Outside of work, Rachael likes to cook and spend time outdoors with her husband and 3 children.

Luke joined Karuna in 2026. He graduated from Sonoma State University with a double major in Accounting and Management. Before joining Karuna, Luke gained experience at a Big 4 accounting firm and in private equity consulting. He then specialized in family office services at a prominent public accounting firm, working with ultra-high-net-worth individuals and their families. Outside of work, Luke enjoys playing basketball, traveling, and trying new restaurants.

Aron joined Karuna in 2022. He graduated from Chapman University with a degree in Accounting and a minor in Arabic. He also earned his Master of Legal Studies in Taxation from the University of San Francisco School of Law. Before joining Karuna, Aron worked at a national accounting firm where he developed his expertise in private client services. At Karuna, he focuses on complex tax compliance and advisory work for high-net-worth individuals, partnerships, and family offices. Outside of work, he enjoys traveling, golfing, producing music, weightlifting, and watching sports.

Chase joined Karuna in 2024. He graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor's in Accounting and Master's in Accounting with an emphasis in Tax. Chase has experience working in the preparation of tax returns and assisting clients with tax planning. Chase loves to play pickleball, watch movies, and spend time with friends and family.

Trevor joined Karuna in 2026. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from UCSB and is currently completing accounting coursework through UCSB’s Extension program. Prior to joining Karuna, Trevor gained experience in private client services at a national accounting firm. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, strength training, and hiking.

Emily joined Karuna Advisors as a Family Office Intern in 2026. She will graduate from Brigham Young University in April 2026 with a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Accounting and a minor in Information Systems. Emily has a strong interest in financial statements and identifying patterns in data, and she looks forward to continuing to grow her knowledge and skills at Karuna. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, writing novels, watching movies, and spending time with friends and family.

Alex joined Karuna in 2026. He earned a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering from LSU and is currently pursuing a Masters in Business Administration from The University of Louisiana Lafayette. Over the years, he has strengthened his knowledge of operations through working in a variety of small businesses. Outside of work, he enjoys nature photography, playing music, and spending time with his wife and their three dogs.

Bri joined Karuna in 2024. After graduating from Duke University with a major in Environmental Science and a minor in Japanese, she found a love for HR. Over the years, she grew her skills in HR administration, operations, and business partnership in working for and consulting with Bay Area start-ups. Outside of work, Bri enjoys writing, reading, and spending time with her family.
